          We should clarify that a license from any of the ASN territories is also acceptable. If a participant already has one then they do not need to apply for a CACC license. Here are the other acceptable licenses:

          – Atlantic Canada Atlantic Region Motor Sports
          РQuebec la F̩d̩ration Auto-Qu̩bec (en francais)
          – Ontario C.A.S.C. Ontario Region
          – Prairie Provinces Western Canada Motorsport Association (WCMA)
          – Canadian Rally Authority Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS),I am not a Canadian resident and have a SCCA membership.

            Re: 2017 ASN/FIA Canadian Autoslalom Championship

            I'm confused - why do we need a CACC licence?

            From the sup regs:

            4.1. Eligibility to Participate
            1. To be eligible to compete as a driver, a driver must:
            a. Hold a current provincial or state Driver’s License (Graduated licenses, where the
            driver is authorized to drive without another licensed driver being present, are
            permitted.);
            b. To enter a National Autoslalom Championship event, a competitor must hold a
            competition license (or membership card) issued by ASN Canada FIA or an ASN
            Territory that grants eligibility for AutoSlalom events, or a Day License issued by
            the organizing club;
            c. Have signed the ASN Canada FIA General Waiver.

            Section "b" says a licence or a club membership is required. A CACC licence would only be required for someone who does not have a club membership from an ASN/FIA affiliate club. VCMC and most of the other BC and Alberta clubs are under the umbrella ....... so is a membership good enough?

            Just for the record I personally have a CACC licence, but I'm getting questions and negative feedback from others about the additional cost and hassle

              There seems to be some confusion over licenses. WCMA does not issue licences for autoslalom purposes; all one needs is a membership in a WCMA sanctioned club. I believe that this is also true for ARMS (Atlantic Region Motor Sports).

                Hey Murray!

                CACC doesn't issue licences either. I only have one because of a little pre-season cash grab - each club has to have 5 members with a licence before CACC will issue permits. So pretty much everybody will have to pay the $15 CACC licence fee if it is required.

                  The key phrase in the rules quoted are, "a competition license (or membership card) issued by ASN Canada FIA or ASN territory that grants eligibility for Autoslalom events.

                  VCMC membership cards are not issued by CACC. This is why VCMC members (or anyone else from a club affiliated with CACC) must get a CACC competition license for autoslalom. The exception to the CACC license is if you already have another license with one of the other Canadian territories under ASN. Those were listed previously. If your club membership card was issued by the local territory (like WCMA) then this is acceptable.

                    CACC does issue an Autoslalom License. Here is an example of one. Ignore the goofy photo on the front :

                      Sorry - I wasn't clear. What I meant was CACC doesn't issue licences to everyone who races. I mentioned earlier that I do have a licence, so I know they exist....although I have yet to find a use for one

                        I just read the supplementary regulations for the upcoming nationals and see that only "Appendix A" listed cars are included. Well in fact, if you read Section 7 of the ASN regulations you will see that the regulation combines the SCCA Appendix A & B as one. So there is no "Appendix A" under the ASN rules.

                        The 2017 ASN Autoslalom Regulations states the following:

                        Section 7. VEHICLE CLASSIFICATION LIST ASN Canada FIA has adopted the following Appendix of the SCCA Solo II Rules as part of the National Autoslalom Regulations.
                        Appendix A Car Classes
                        Appendix B Classic American Muscle

                        Can you clarify that you will be including all ASN Canada car classes in the upcoming Nationals?

                          Yes, all car classes including CAM classes are eligible to compete in the 2017 Canadian Autoslalom championship.

                          I will edit the reference in the supplementary regulation to reflect a reference to section 7 of the ASN Regulations.

                              CACC Competition licenses are only required for people within clubs affiliated with the CACC. In fact, you will not be approved for a CACC license if you are from another ASN territory listed in the first post. People from those regions planning to participate in the event will have to get memberships from their ASN territory if they don't already have one.
