Will novice 2 be required to have instructors sit in or will we be allowed to go solo from the start? And also how often is the probability of people getting bumped up a class or bumped down?

Novice 2 is not required to have instructors, usually by request (unless there is a problem with your driving). People get bump up/down all the time, we monitor all the sessions and make adjustments accordingly.

Remember last year vcmc track event, instructors would ask you to give a ride or not, and of course it's good idea that instructor would give you some advice or tell you how's your driving.

I always like to have an instructor for my first session to correct my mistakes so I can work on improving them through out the day

For tight hairpin turns such as turn 3, is it adviseable to keep the hands on the steering wheel at 3 and 9 oclock and turn them or should I do shuffle steering?

Depends on how quick is your steering ratio. The slower ones will take more than 180 degrees on the wheel to make that corner. Either way is "correct", as long as the input is smooth, and timed right.

                    13.5:1 Steering ratio.

Kenneth, that is a great attitude to come to the track with! Practicing mistakes is not particularly productive, but coming out with an intent to learn and grow certainly is.

Sorry, I didn't mean the actual numeric number when I said steering ratio. I was merely commenting on "relative" steering ratio. A vehicle with the same steering ratio would steer differently depending on the wheelbase.

The easiest way is to drive the corner once and you will know if you can make it without taking your hands of the wheel.
