    2009 NCT #2 - Sunday May 24th

    Hey Everyone!

The 2009 NCT has begun with a VERY wet first race!!! Hopefully second race will have better weather.

NCT is a series designed for those new to the sport and provides a great avenue for friendly competition. While entry to the event is open to all drivers, only those having participated in 3 or less Solo2 events* prior to January 1, 2009 may participate in the NCT Series.

*Include ALL Solo2 events that require a CACC event permit, such as close club events, regional events, test and tune and driving schools. If you are unsure please ask!

    Race Date: Sunday, May 24th
Location: BC Driving Center (Pitt Meadows Airport)
Gates open @ 7:30 am. Tech closes @ 8:15am, & Reg closes @ 8:30am (sharp!). (please note these times are strictly enforced and anyone not registered/tech'd by 8:30am will not be allowed to run - Please allow enough time for car prep and registration)
Driver's meeting is at 9 am.

Location: BC Driving Centre, Pitt Meadows

    How do I get there?

    Rules at BCDC:
    - Drive the speed limit to and from the event. Obey all signs.
    - Exhaust noise maximum 92 db (Zero tolerance)
    - NO!-Speeding, burn-outs, loud stereos or excessive noise.
    - Respect the local residents. It is a privilege to be here, and we are guests. Act accordingly.
    - You must Keep your car under control at all times.
    - Do not lock up your brakes.
    - No doughnuts or continual tire smoke.
    - No exhibition driving.

VCMC has the right to refuse entry to anyone attending this event who does not comply with these rules. You will forfeit your entry fee without recourse.
Breaking these rules at any time of the event from beginning to end, will get you banned from all other local autocross events and the BC Driving Center.

You can register the morning of the event, or we encourage pre-register on Karelo here to speed up registration. Entry fee is $30 on Karelo, $40 on site.

Membership is required for this event:
$50 for new members (free event included!)
    $40 for renewals ($50 after April 5th)

Memberships also available on Karelo here

If you have already signed up and paid on Karelo, you don't have to sign up below. Otherwise signup on this thread below. This will help us to determine the size of the event and allow us to plan a smooth running event which means more runs for our members!

Format of posting for pre-reg is:

    Name:
    Car:
Class: (if you don't know just ask and we'll figure it out)
Barcode: (your barcode number/don't have one yet)
    Member: (y/n)
    Novice: (y/n)

In addition, we will also be needing volunteers to fill these worker positions, these will get you out of cone duties but might still need you to help with easier positions:

As per our "in-depth" discussion on the forum last time, can I get out of cone duty if I sign up for photography duty? I'll only lug my gear out if the weather stays dry though, and will gladly serve cone duty if it is wet.

    Hey Lloyd,

For new members wishing to use their free event credit, just do as you have done and pre-reg by posting in this thread. This allows us to prefill our timing system with your car info to speed things along. Then on the morning of the event, just check in with the registration folks under the big red tent and tell them you are using your free event.

    Cheers,

I think I may have plaid twice for myself because I had to go back and pay for Kate. I guess we'll work it out a the event worse case. PS Is it possible to run an event at BCDC with 100 drivers? UBCSCC had issues running over time with 70ppl.

The most we have done was 107 drivers, NCT1 2008. We managed 8 short runs, which is good for NCT where most novices prefer short simple course with more runs.

Stock allows the change of just the front sway bar. Rear sway bar has to be stock and untouched, as per trim level.

You are correct about the displacement. Ken AY's Impreza had the 2.5L motor and was STS legal.

Hmm.. according to P. 168 in 2009_Solo_Rules.pdf, TSX w/ RSB should be in Street Touring (ST) Class... right?

    Engine Displacement:
    - up to 3.1L normally aspirated or
    - small turbocharged engines

    specifically listed below

No Limited Slip Differentials except factory standard viscous types
