Tire Rack is having a close-out sale on these babies, and in my size (215/45/17), the tire is only US$75/each. I read some old reviews and it seems like the tire was certainly decent in relation to its competitors of the same era, but I'm sure it doesn't compare as favourably against the most recent generation of extreme performance / street tire class competition tires.
My summer rubber's tread depth is running a little less than 6/32th at the moment. I have a feeling that they'd need to be replaced sometime next year if VCMC continues to have as many events as it did this year.
The thing is, is it worth the trouble to buy this old stock, pick them up from Point Roberts, store them over the winter and let the rubber compound harden until I finally mount them some time next year? (My guess is, my current summer rubber can probably last at least until next June.)
